Close encounters of the third kind: thankfully, I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing one – yet. But that doesn’t stop my curiosity from running wild. The idea of alien encounters has always fascinated me, and I often find myself wondering what such strange and surreal moments might feel like. In an attempt to capture that feeling, I decided to channel my imagination into a creative project: a series of 60s retro sci-fi photographs.

The 60s felt like the perfect era to capture the wonder and mystery of alien encounters, with its bold, futuristic style. Achieving the right balance of vintage charm and surreal otherworldliness wasn’t easy, and it pushed my skills as a matte painter. Yet, it was a rewarding process that allowed me to explore this iconic visual style while feeding my fascination with the unknown.

In the end, I wanted these images to evoke a sense of awe and curiosity, much like the sci-fi stories of the past that first captured our imaginations.
