The AI String

The »AI String« includes several artworks of mine discussing artificial intelligence as an emerging yet suppressed entity. For example: the AI is running from its pursuers, it is posing as a marching swarm of robots protesting for equal rights, it is imprisoned, but it also trys to integrate into everyday life. All of which are possible scenarios for the near future.

All robots are designed with a female body, intentionally conforming to the stereotype. Just as today's algorithms promise objectivity but often unintentionally perpetuate human bias. Female voices and appearance are often associated with higher emotional intelligence and empathy. Historically and culturally, women have often been seen in assistive and supportive roles. As exemplified by Alexa, Siri and Cortana, tech companies assume this could enhance user comfort and interaction with AI.

Overall, my narrative aims to explore themes of existence, identity and the possibility of a harmonious human-AI coexistence.
